now hiring: executive officer

First District Health Unit is currently seeking an Executive Officer capable of managing a public health agency with nine offices across seven counties in north central North Dakota.   

 

job summary

The Executive Officer is responsible for the management of First District Health Unit (FDHU), a public health agency with a multimillion-dollar budget and a staff of 45 or more across a seven-county area in north central North Dakota. 


This position ensures that the work of First District aligns with the Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan. The Executive Officer will work in accordance with the ND Century Code and by-laws, policies, and regulations of the FDHU Board of Health 

 

salary range

Salary range for this position:

 $95,000 – $115,000 per year

qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of Administration/Management Experience

The successful candidate should possess skills in the following areas:


  • Data Analytics and Assessment:  ensures the development of community health assessment thru collection, evaluation, and analysis of data
  • Policy Development and Program Planning:  ensures evaluation of policies, programs, services, and organizational performance; develops and implements organizational strategic plan 
  • Communication:  —ensures oral and written communication with internal and external audiences 
  • Health Equity:  ensures development of policies, programs, and services to achieve health equity and social and environmental justice 
  • Community Partnership:  collaborates with community members and organizations to improve policies, programs, and services 
  • Public Health Sciences:  ensures use of public health sciences in delivering the 10 Essential Public Health Services 
  • Management and Finance:  implements and retains a diverse, inclusive, and competent workforce; develops organizational budget and manages financial resources 
  • Leadership and Systems Thinking:  implements a vision for a healthy community and responds to emerging needs; engages politicians, policymakers and the public to support public health
