Kennedy is wanted for the June 3, 2021 murder 33 year old Dominique Kelly, of Minot.

The U.S. Marshals Service received word that Kennedy was driving through Macomb County on Monday and started to follow him. He was apprehended at gunpoint by local and federal authorities in Warren following a high-speed pursuit that wound its way through several Macomb County communities. The chase reached speeds of 100 mph before police were able to stop him.

Kelly, 33, was found deceased in the trunk of a burning vehicle, authorities said. After she was found, a home that was associated with the Kennedy was deliberately set on fire.

According to a newspaper report in Macomb County Michigan, the 32 year old Kennedy is being held without bond at an undisclosed location. After the hearing for his supervised release violations, the process will begin to extradite him to North Dakota to face the murder and arson charges involving the death of his girlfriend.

“At the end of the day, he has a homicide warrant, and multiple other felony warrants, and a violent criminal history,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia told Fox2 Detroit (Channel 2). “He needed to go to jail.”
