First District Health Unit is now hiring an Administrative Assistant for our Bottineau, ND location! This individual is responsible for handling a variety of tasks that keep the Health Unit operating efficiently.
STARTING PAY: $16.83/Hr
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide polite and professional assistance through phone, mail, and electronic communications.
• Competent in data entry into software systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), and internet literate.
• Ability to operate office equipment such as copiers, scanners, laminators, document shredders, etc.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues in a mature, confidential manner with integrity and respect.
• Must be able to multitask and adapt to frequent changes.
• Ability to meet Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere and assist clients with food safety testing, clients picking up resources, or directing them to the correct staff/department for additional assistance.
• Answer multi-line phone calls, transfer calls and respond independently when appropriate.
• Schedule and manage appointments, classes, clinics, or events.
• Instruct clients in the completion of all necessary paperwork.
• Utilize software to maintain client data, create reports, and facilitate payments for FDHU services.
• Effectively assist in determining the services needed by clients.
• Assist with off-site clinics, after-hours clinics, or events, when needed.
• Process client payments, balance cash drawer, and compile weekly deposits.
• Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, deliveries, etc.
• Facilitate client notifications for necessary follow-up services such as immunizations or licensing.
• Assist with inventory maintenance, ordering nursing and office supplies.
• Ensure the reception area is tidy and organized.
• Maintain working knowledge of public health functions and FDHU services.
• Assist with transporting supplies, vaccine, equipment, etc.
• Respond to public health emergencies
• Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Experience in customer service. • Administrative support experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
• Complete training in ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 upon hire.
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Complete and maintain all required trainings per FDHU policy
